Ludwig Wittgenstein and Postmodernism

Back

Although this lecture makes no connection between Wittgenstein and postmodernism, it is not difficult to find fundamental tenets of postmodern philosophy in Wittgenstein's latter philosophy. To Wittgenstein, philosophy of language at its core is foundationaless, formed on pragmatic grounds based on our perspective. It is not surprising that Wittgenstein's ideas are picked up and advanced to further extremes by Jean-François Lyotard.
